In 1984, I graduated from what is now Huddersfield University with a B.A. Honours degree in Business Studies (Grade 2.1). At the same time, I qualified as a Management Accountant with what is now the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

In November, 1980, I had joined the Sheffield office of what was then Peat Marwick Mitchell (subsequently Peat Marwick McLintock, now KPMG) as a specialist insolvency accountant.

I worked in Sheffield for six years and was then transferred to the Leeds office where I worked for a further six years for a variety of Insolvency Licence holders.

During my 12 years with KPMG, I worked on a wide variety of insolvency assignments – mainly Administrative Receiverships throughout the country but mainly in the North East.

In 1992, I left KPMG and after a period of study, I was granted my own Insolvency Licence by the Department of Trade and Industry.

I then joined a small firm of Chartered Accountants in Holmfirth by the name of Rogers and Co and specialised in running small liquidations, Bankruptcies and Voluntary Arrangements.

I now practice as a sole trader under my own name from Yorkshire House, 7 South Lane, Holmfirth, near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD7 1HN.

I specialise in advising sole traders, partnerships and companies who find themselves in financial difficulties on the various options which are available to them under the Insolvency Act 1986. I also act as Trustee in Bankruptcy, Supervisor of Individual Voluntary Arrangements and Liquidator of Companies under the above legislation.

My initial advice to any Company or Individual is usually given without charge. My charges for acting in any official capacity are at a rate which I believe is the most competitive of any comparable practitioner.
