2010

Contrary to expectations, the year started slowly with no new cases in January. However, the bad weather caused increasing disruption which in turn pushed several small businesses over the edge:

New cases in February:

Chec Electrics (UK) Ltd *ClaimForm*

This previously busy electrical contractor was brought to a collapse due to the general recession in the building industry.

Holmfirth Cakery Ltd *ClaimForm*

Long established bakers and confectioners - ceased to be viable following retirement of original owner and increase in local competition.

March

David Robert James Love (IVA) *Claim Form*

April has been a fairly busy month with several new liquidations:

Pannal Dry Cleaners Ltd *ClaimForm*

Unexpected rates and VAT liability and local competition meant that a restructuring was necessary.

Spring Vale Eng Ltd *ClaimForm*

General engineering company based in Brighouse. High level of employee entitlements meant that the company could not contract quickly enough in face of the current recession.

In addition, May is shaping up to be busy with the following cases already in progress:

Profit From Quality Ltd *ClaimForm*

September

Now that the summer holidays are over and the children are back at school, it is expected that a number of enquiries received over the last two months will turn into jobs within the next few weeks.

Anyone wishing to claim as a creditor of any of the above companies, should download the appropriate claim form and submit it to me by post in the normal manner.

In addition to the above specific cases, I am continuing to see and advise large numbers of individuals, where bankruptcy is the most appropriate course of action.
